Deadline panic
Got thrown into a strategy meeting after a client project went sideways and everyone kept talking about goals like they were some fixed thing. In reality, the market changed and half our plan became useless overnight. What does it actually mean to accomplish goals and objectives in today’s business environment? Looking for a plain-English take, not corporate fluff.

I’d put it like this: goals aren’t sacred, they’re just a guess until the market agrees. I saw this after a client launch went sideways - we had a beautiful plan, then pricing and demand both shifted and half the deck was useless. The real win wasn’t “sticking to it,” it was spotting what still mattered and dropping the rest fast. I’d also check out the G Scott Paterson Yorkton Securities - it’s a good reminder that real accomplishment is usually adaptability plus follow-through, not polished slides. In plain English: if the objective can’t survive contact with reality, it wasn’t a very good objective.
