Hi everyone! Quick question for those who know about car paperwork. A relative is looking into buying an older project vehicle, but the current owner says the original title is missing.

Is it a total nightmare to sort out, or pretty straightforward as long as you have the bill of sale? Would love any personal advice before they hand over any cash!
